Life of a Fool
Its hard too look up,
when you've been looking down for so long,
heavens a ways away,
and I'm stuck to the ground.
Swimming against the current,
only takes you so far,
before it takes you under,
and you've lost sight of where you are.
There was a choice,
placed before us,
to stand or to fall,
So excuse me while I'll scrape myself up off the floor.
Bloody hands, blurred vision,
Clouted thoughts, desensitized by it all.
An unknown power over me,
bringing me up, rising to the call,
I rise as I fall,
I sink as I swim,
I do whatever it takes,
There is no other choice in this life but to win.
