The big elephant was sad and alone
walking through the forest with a face all day long.
He knew there was something he wanted to be
that wasn’t an elephant, a man, or a tree
Feeling all blue, he cried near the river
as he hid from all mammals, reptiles, and beavers.
He didn’t feel happy of his elephant form,
and wanted to change to another more fun.
The days passed by and he stared at the sea
as he dreamed to be a monkey in a tree.
He tried many ways to climb through the trees
and eat a banana or say “ooo-ooo” “aa-iii”.
But all it came out were weird funny noises
and he was too big, too heavy and clumsy
About to give up, a little monkey appeared
he had stared at the elephant from far and from near.
He went up to him and said really softly
“what are you doing? You look dumb and volky”.
There’s nothing better than to be you
be happy with it and the rest will envy you.
Being an elephant most be the best thing
to be big and strong is a wonderful thing.
So
don’t try to change and stick to the truth,
because
at the end no one’s you-er than you!
The
elephant learned a big lesson that day
and
stopped climbing trees or wishing away.
And from
now on he decided one thing:
being
an elephant was indeed the best thing.
So
you little kid who wants to change places:
stay
where you are and be happy, embrace it.
